Grieving a Dream
Sometimes in life your dreams, your hopes your aspirations get unfulfilled for whatever the reason or cause it happens and your left to do nothing but grieve the loss, and disappointment and find your hope in Christ Alone.
Have you ever wanted something so badly that you do all you possibly can to make it happen? It can even be a good thing and a admirable thing. Yet, your efforts prove your striving to be unfruitful.
Someone once said, "A good thing can become a bad thing if it keeps you from the best thing". This is true of our dreams, hopes, and aspirations.
Jesus didn't come and die to give us the life we always dreamed of, but rather to seek and save that which was lost.
We must be satisfied in Jesus and all he has given to us.
Contentment isn't found in the bed you lie in every night, it isn't found in the clothes you wear, the couch you sit on, the yard you have, the house you have, the car you drive the , spouse you have, the children you have.
While these things can bring us great joy, we must not forget that our joy must be found in Jesus, In his finished work for us on the cross.
So what are your disappointments is it time for you to let go of your dreams, your hopes, your aspirations? Perhaps, once you let them go you will begin to experience true Joy and satisfaction.
Its painful and it wont be easy to say goodbye to something you wanted so badly it will not be without tears, sometimes dreams and goals and aspirations can truly feel like a death as sometimes we hold them so closely to our hearts.
Perhaps this is why we are told to set our affections on things above not on things of the earth for we are dead our life is hid in Christ in God.
This world truly has nothing to offer us. Our affections must be set above lest the lures of this world capture our affections and we are left utterly disappointed.
